The International Fraud Awareness Week 2021

Last week, and as every year in November, NetGuardians participated as the official supporter of the International Fraud Awareness Week.

For this special week, we’ve decided to launch an awareness campaign about QR Code scams.

As part of the campaign, we have shared a QR Code on our social networks, which encouraged users to scan the QR Code. The QR code redirected the users to a page that could have been fraudulent, but was in fact an informative page about QR Code scams. We wanted to point out that if this QR-Code belonged to a fraudster, the person who scanned the QR could have been scammed.

As a result of the campaign, in one week, we had more than 250 clicks just by sharing the QR Code on social networks.

Lesson learned: Always think twice before scanning a QR Code or clicking on a suspicious link.
